RENTAL EQUIPMENT

The following rental equipment is available for Introduction to Ski Touring, Journey Days and some skills courses. For other courses we expect you to attend on equipment you are familiar with as the pace is quicker and transitions need to be smoother.

• Backcountry Access Avalanche Safety Equipment

  We can provide tranceiver, shovel and probe free of charge. You need to let us know if you need these at the time of booking (you will be asked during the booking process).

• Atomic Ski Touring Skis

  We have 15 sets of skis with ski touring bindings, skins and ski crampons. The bindings are mainly frame bindings so that they can work with alpine boots. We also have several sets of skis with pin bindings so let us know if you have pin compatible boots when renting. We do not supply boots so you need to bring your own. If you do not have boots you would be better to rent the full package from either Ellis Brigham or Tiso in Aviemore from about £35. Please check opening times of the shops as it may be necessary to collect equipment the day before. Tiso normally open at 8am on a Saturday but Ellis Brigham / TSA opens at 9am which is too late for your courses. We charge £25 for just the ski rental (this includes skins and ski crampons). We do not have any splitboards for rent, these would need to be booked in advance from TSA in Aviemore (please note the cost for splitboard rental is usually a lot more than ski rental and they need collected the evening before).
